While breakaway advisors and growth-minded RIAs stand to benefit the most from our services, firms of any size and stage can still find value in what we have to offer. If you serve HNW and UHNW clients and feel Cygnet may be a fit for what you need, feel free to contact us.
-
While there is some variability on what the dollar thresholds for these terms are, individuals and entities that meet the definition of a qualified purchaser are best positioned to benefit from the specialized training our team has in investments, estate and trust, and client concierge.
-
While we do not have a minimum AUM requirement, smaller firms will be subject to a minimum monthly fee until they reach a certain level of revenue. At that point they will transition to our revenue-based pricing.

Cygnet is a long-term solution for your client services needs. Onboarding and full integration with your firm is an investment for both you and Cygnet, and in order for you to receive the maximum benefit we encourage at least a one year engagement.
-
"White label" means that although Cygnet is an outsourced solution, all our communications with your clients will come from an email address and phone number that belong to your advisory firm. Our goal is to ensure your clients feel like we are another member of your team.
-
Cygnet was not built to serve everyone. We prioritize long-term partnerships and are selective about which advisors we work with and how often we onboard. This allows us to be intentional about managing our capacity in order to ensure the highest level of service for the advisors we partner with.
-
Our pricing model is based on a percentage of revenue which is determined by reviewing several different factors including firm AUM, average client size, and our scope of services. Properly aligned incentives are critical to success in any business endeavor and we find that by tying our revenue to yours, we are strongly incentivized to do all we can to support you and help your firm grow.
Our pricing model also means there is no limit to the number of hours we spend working with each advisor. We find this gives advisors less anxiety around interacting with our team which ultimately enhances the quality of our services. It also gives our team the freedom to allocate additional time to help you on more complex tasks or tasks requiring additional quality checks.
-
Our onsite integration period is the second part of our onboarding process.
Onboarding begins with a preparation period of ~2 weeks where we establish relevant systems access for your primary and secondary CSAs and perform a high-level review of your firm and client information. We consider this time period to be “Pre-Day One”.
Onsite integration starts on Day One and involves your primary CSA traveling to your working location to collaborate with you in person for approximately one week. During this time, your CSA will familiarize themselves with the dynamic of your team, your working style preferences, and the service preferences of your clients. We find this period of time to be critical for ensuring the long-term success of our partnership and to be a highlight for both sides!

Our co-founder, Marcella Toronto, has been involved in RIA compliance for over five years, including serving as Deputy CCO and CCO at two multi-family offices. Compliance with SEC regulations and tight cybersecurity are high priorities for our team. In addition to following instructions from your firm’s compliance team, we run our own internal compliance program.
Our IT provider specializes in working with RIAs and maintains system controls consistent with the SEC's expectations. We always take advantage of additional layers of security, such as two-factor authentication, and require that all systems and applications are updated to the latest version. Passwords are stored in a password locker and only team members directly serving your firm will have access to your client data.
-
Our priority is your and your client’s experience. In the event that you decide Cygnet is not a fit for you and your clients, we are happy to assist with the transition in a mutually agreed upon way.
Our Promise to You
Your client relationships belong to you. In our service agreement we include non-solicitation language with no expiration date to give you confidence that we will respect the time and energy you have invested in building those relationships.
